The aim of Knowmore.org is to raise awareness of corporate abuse, and to serve as a catalyst for direct action against corporate power.

Ethical Consumerism is an important movement toward corporate reform, through which individuals recognize their own role in systems of oppression, and take personal steps toward resistance and  positive change.

However, the problem of unchecked corporate power is systemic and goes far beyond the scope of any single boycot or campaign.

The Knowmore Firefox Extension has THREE major features.

Company Website Alerts

When you visit the websites of unethical companies -- you will automatically be alerted to issues ranging from Worker Rights, Human Rights, Political Influence, Environmental Issues, and Business Ethics. Click here to see which companies are currently included in the extension.

Integration with Major Search Results: (Google, Yahoo , Live, and Ask.com)

Now, when you search for brands, companies, and products on your favorite search engines -- Knowmore's intuitive issue specific icons will show up next to the relevant company's URL in search results.

Note: The icons represent: Worker Rights, Human Rights, Political Influence, Environmental Impact, & Business Ethics. If the corresponding icon is red, this means there are significant areas of concern, if it is yellow this means the company is neutral, if green the company has been given a positive rating.

NEW: Integration with the Amazon.com Product Catalog

We now integrate our icon ratings within specific product pages inside the Amazon.com catalog. Current integration includes Adidas, American Apparel, Apple, Chevron, Coca-cola, Equal Exchange, General Electric, Hasbro, Nike, & Pfizer.

Other Features

Google Hompepage Integration

• When you visit Google.com, an invitation to find out more about a specific company appears below the main search box. Hit re-fresh and the company randomly changes.

KnowMore Sidebar

• (Under Development) You can view all of the Knowmore profiles that are integrated into the extension by clicking View->Sidebar->Knowmore Sidebar. Keyboard shortcut: Alt+K.

The Knowmore extension currently creates alerts and integrates into major search engines for 30+ companies (plus their Brands & Subsidiaries.)

Note: The Knowmore.org database contains over 200 profiles of major corporations. The Knowmore community is currently in the process of reviewing and updating the rest of our profiles before making this data available in the extension.

The extension is powered by Knowmore's API and updates the client-side database once every 24 hours.
